In soap and water our hands in endless swim,
Contending with a virus, that seeks our lives to trim,
A daily scare, with cases compounding, mounting,
Our fear gripped souls, it endlessly keeps hounding,
With all mankind in arms to tame this corona beast,
Heeding precaution, so on our lives, it will not feast.
Exhaling, coughing into our elbows,
Restraining hands, yes kissing elbows,
All else distinct, from traditional hand shaking,
As greeting gestures, on the go, we keep creating,
Trying to evade the sting of this virus, undesirous,
Seeking ways to escape this coronavirus.
We are not to touch our own pretty faces,
We gear up, going through all safety phases,
For the fear of tomorrow, has raided store shelves,
All in confusion and cannot seem to find ourselves,
This coronavirus, dressed up in the garments of the flu,
Sending lives in odd directions, without a clue?
Standing distant from each other 6 feet apart,
Husband and Wife, alone, in a dance quite apart,
Far from romantic, on a beloved anniversary,
A timely season for bonding, no time for adversary,
Coronavirus, sneaking up upon a precious life,
And in its path dispersing much strife.
Staying home, head spinning, feeling sick,
Away from work no time to play slick,
Coughing, sneezing, headache and a fever,
In covers wrapped, and in a sweat drenched shiver,
Your steaming eyes, into the news you zoom in,
D Trump, talking smack, a line he cannot fall in.
All closed, schools on a local shut down,
Some in their own homes, in a lock down,
To join hands to pray we even cannot gather,
And from all else it keeps keeping us much further,
TAKE CAUTION, BUT BE COOL, folks, it is here, yes,
Like all his cousins before him, HE TOO SHALL PASS.
