It was a night,
And all sort rest from light,
A night so lonely,
And yet so holy,
For so we are told,
By divine words of old.
Christmas is here again,
A wait but not in vain,
Yes, bells are jingling,
And people mingling,
As we hail our salvation,
A course for great celebration.
Oh yes this night so serene,
Though dark without scene,
Was blessed with stars so sparkling,
That watched with eyes so brightening,
To guide three men of eastern wisdom,
With gifts to grace his kingdom.
Christmas is here again,
A wait but not in vain,
Yes, bells are jingling,
And people mingling,
As we hail our salvation,
A course for great celebration.
