Principles
Principles of Dennis Liwewe
-
Mental preparedness is the starting point
-
Most of us only use 16% of our mental prowess: to excel exploit beyond that
-
Used 4:4:2 formation that allows all out attack (not 5:4:1 formation)
-
Our competition is not local; it is global and only the best globally will get it and succeed
-
Focus on what is important in life: ask ‘what is in it for me to survive?’
-
Focus: I don’t dwell on people; I only discuss myself, my family and my survival strategy
-
We must prepare for and accept change
-
Value and invest in education for yourself and your children
-
Determination to succeed is an important virtue in life
-
From the village I decided ‘never again into poverty’ and that needs some virtues
-
Spot and seize the opportunities that come your way
-
Never give up: you can counter attack in the second half; you can still score in the second half or even in the dying minutes of the second half
-
Communication starts with personal communication: the way you look, talk, dress up etc.
-
Beware of the danger of alcohol (I never drank alcohol or taken wine)
-
Be able to stand up and say ‘no’ when it needs to be said or to say ‘never again’
-
Adaptability / exposure: worked in mines (rising to director level), print journalism, sports radio commentator-ship and in mentorship program. Widely travelled: to 42 different countries
-
Family structure: unity of the family is key
-
Three key virtues: self-discipline, commitment, investment in education
-
Belief in God: without divine intervention nothing is possible.
