SLIMY PATHWAY

Writer's picture: Edwin JanneyEdwin Janney

This slippery slimy path and gateway,

Though tempting though inviting,

When entered with no restrictions,

Or sometimes with no prescriptions,

Can spell depredation and devastation,

Or even lead, at times to damnation.

This slippery slimy path and gateway,

Enticing the virile desiring eye,

Is mounted to be routinely guarded,

From intruding dogs and invading vultures.

This slippery slimy path and gateway,

Leading to an incubating chamber,

Is molded to preserve and hatch lives,

Who must enter as seed and be nurtured,

Of folk to bless themselves and other folks,

In due season as his will for you is released.

Hear me you Romeo, you teen, you stallion,

Who real life has yet for you to know,

Who knows not wives but baby mamas,

A trip or several through this pleasing pathway,

If not in season, and without the required ticket,

Can deprive mankind of the gains of its creation.

And of you Juliet, the designated security guard,

Must unlawful access deprive and deny,

And guard this gateway with utmost caution,

Till the harvest is due in heavenly season,

For this is the will of the architect, maker and creator,

Who knows what is best for his masterpiece.
